why I chose Savannah college of art & design as one of my match schools...
I profiled Savannah College of Art & Design as on of my match schools because it’s been known as a top school to study fashion, there are many majors that interest me, and I have the GPA they’re looking for - plus my SAT scores fall in the middle to upper range of their accepted students. Though I’m not so sure about the location (Georgia), I feel that this school offers a lot for a design student entering the most up-to-date work world from digital media and communications to the fashion industry. This school also offers performing arts programs that I would love to be a part of, as well as a few sports I’m interested in. Their demographic doesn’t seem as diverse as other design schools which is a bit concerning. Though I have never visited the campus, it looks like the buildings have an old-city or university feel and the housing for students looks much more modern and lush. This college has a good sized population of around 10,000 students and the percentage of out-of-state students outways the percentage of in-state students by a landslide, proving that I’ll be meeting people from all over the country, not just from Georgia. The price of the tuition and fees is one of the most expensive compared to the other design schools I’m considering, however, it seems like they are able to give out a significant amount of financial aid. Savannah College of Art & Design seems like it might be a good fit for me, and I’d love to visit it if I get the chance (if I get accepted).
